Targeting Corbina is widely considered the pinnacle of West Coast surf fly fishing. Unlike typical surf fishing where you blind-cast into the waves, sight fishing to Corbina is visual and reactive. These members of the croaker family (related to redfish) are often found cruising the "skinny water" along the shoreline. They move in with the incoming waves, often with their backs and tails exposed to vacuum up sand crabs from the bottom. This style of spot-and-stalk fishing can be challenging and addicting! Prime fishing months are June-August.
